Shaq on SI cover…Game 5…Wine & Gold Show at 7

Whether an SI cover jinx is what we needed right now or not, that’s what we’re gonna get.  Accoring to an emailed release, SI’s Chris Ballard caught up with the Diesal for the story set to hit newsstands tomorrow and“focuses on the changed persona and player that came to Cleveland during the offseason…looks at a couple of the factors that have gone in to Shaq’s metamorphosis since arriving in Cleveland…and describes how O’Neal has been used relatively infrequently during the playoffs and has looked either 28 or 48 during his playing time. But, through all of this, O’Neal has not lost sight of his original goal when coming to Cleveland: provide the King with a Ring.”

Game Five Tonight:  So back to that win a Ring for the King thing…I remember it like it was yesterday…all’s right with the Cavaliers world, the presence larger than life was on the podium with Danny Ferry, Cleveland was collectively laughing, cheering, and planning the victory parade.  Fast forward to today, and well, its go time big fella.  The word I’m hearing out of shoot-a-round earlier today is that Shaq did not look happy, and no Cavaliers players spoke with the media.  I hope that means that Shaq – and company – are focused.  And I also hope that Shaq does not come out and play as old as they made him look on this cover.

Wine and Gold Show Tonight:  Glenn and I will be getting into everything about Game Five tonight at 7pm…and we should have a solid podcast lined up.  We are out to a couple Celtics blogs, as well as Chris Ballard, and will have more info on the show schedule posted later on…Go Cavs tonight.
