Baron Davis Hits Broadway:
In a move the whole basketball universe saw coming in recent days, Baron Davis is now a member of the New York Knicks. Byron Scott said yesterday he sent BD a congratulatory text on his new deal, and in about two months Davis is expect to join Amar’e (even though Stoudemire kinda dissed him recently), Carmelo, Tyson Chandler, and our favorite Knick Iman Shumpert. So we’ll see how that goes. If he can get back healthy, Davis could be a big piece at a relatively inexpensive price for NY (Davis agreed to a one year deal for the veteran’s minimum, since he’s loaded already and still getting paid by Cavs, so the Knicks could possibly bring in another player too in addition to him).
Cavs Pistons Part Two:
For their second and final preseason game, the Cavaliers will play host to the Detroit Pistons tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm, and tonight’s game will provide Cavs fans their first look at Small Forward Omri Casspi in a Cavaliers uniform playing against another team. After sitting out Friday’s game in Detroit, Omri looked good running the break alongside Kyrie Irving during his 16 minutes of action in Sunday’s Wine and Gold scrimmage. I’m looking forward to seeing more of that tonight.
I’ll be down at tonight’s game so hit me up on twitter and say hello if you’re there too. Also and check back here later for updates following the game.
After tonight, things get real for these Cavaliers starting on December 26th.
