Skyenga comes off bench, inches closer to 177th place

Last night the Cavaliers lost to the Spurs.  That was not unexpected as the Spurs have the NBA’s best record, the Cavaliers have the worst record and they were playing without their leading scorer Antawn Jamison.  The other thing the Cavaliers had going against them last night was Anthony Parker.  He played 31 minutes and posted a plus minus of -27, shooting 1-7 and scoring only 3 points.

Meanwhile our main man Christian Skyenga was removed from the starting line-up and only saw 16 minutes of court time.  How did he respond?  He hit 3-3 from three point range (4-7 from the floor overall), grabbed 2 rebounds had a blocked shot and scored 11 points.  This all added up to a plus minus of +3.  Hopefully Byron Scott pays attention to this and gives some of Parker’s minutes to Skyenga.

The 11 points moved Skyenga’s career total to 192 points in 24 games (8.0 ppg).  Unfortunately Skyenga remained stuck at 178th place.

The good news is that he is only 2 points behind 177th place, so expect him to make a move on Friday night when the Cavaliers go to New York to face the Knicks.
