Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson Scheduled To Play In CP3’s Charity Game

It looks like Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson will be taking the court together for the first time as members of the Cavaliers sooner than we thought.  While obviously not in an NBA sanctioned event, according to Yahoo!’s Marc Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo), Tristan and Kyrie’s names have been added to the list of players scheduled to take part in Chris Paul’s Charity game on October 1st.

CP3’s Charity game will take place on the campus of Winston Salem University in an attempt to raise money for the school’s scholarship fund.  It’s the same place Paul’s parent’s went to college if you’re interested or wondering why he picked WSU.

The other names previously attached to the game included LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony.  Spears tweeted last night that the other additions, besides Irving and Thompson, include John Wall, Stephen Curry, Rudy Gay, JR Smith, and Josh Selby.

While I don’t expect Irving to push the limits of his healing foot too much in the game, it will be good to see a couple Cavaliers involved in these high-profile charity games as they continue to pop up all over the country.  Hopefully the two top Cavaliers’ Draft Picks can connect on an oop or two to while their out there to get us all gassed up on what’s to come this season whenever it starts.

Ryan Hollins To Play in Mexico Game:

Also according to Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) Cavaliers big man Ryan Hollins is slated to get into some exhibition game action as well. Mexican, and current member of the Charlotte Bobcats, Eduardo Najera is organizing a game in his native country too.  A couple games actually, which are scheduled to take place in Mexico next month.

Among those scheduled to play in that one are Paul Pierce, Kevin Love, Jason Kidd, Tyson Chandler Trevor Ariza, Marcus Camby, DeAndre Jordan, Corey Maggette, Jerryd Bayless, Najera, and our man Ryan Hollins. Steve Nash was also invited to play, but he hasn’t committed yet. We’ll keep you posted on that one too.
