Skyenga posts a triple single against Denver, continues his climb

Another Cavaliers game on Friday, another loss.  That is becoming a pretty regular occurance.  Another thing that is becoming a regular occurance is Christian Skyenga passing players and rocketing towards the top of the Cavaliers’ All-Time Scoring List.

Against Denver, Skyenga put in a workman-like effort and scored 6 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.  That was Skyenga’s 8th career triple single in only 10 games.  The 6 points shot him past two players and into 214th place:

By passing Samardo Samuels, he now ranks 13th among active players.  Skyenga should now stay in front of Samuels, barring injury, as he is getting more playing time than Samuels and his scoring average is also higher.

Mickey Dilliard is another of the infamous 23 players on the 1981-82 squad.  He was a 3rd round draft pick (55th overall) by the Cavaliers in the 1981 draft.  Dillard scored 1,734 points at Florida State, which ranks as the 4th best in school history.  He appeared in 33 of the first 37 games of the season, before being waived by the Cavaliers in January of 1982.  He never played again in the NBA.  His final career statline was 73 points, 34 assists and 15 rebounds in 33 games.  He was 29-79 (36.7%) from the field, 0-4 (0%) from 3-point range and 15-23 (65.2%) from the free throw line.

The road doesn’t get any easier for the Cavaliers and Skyenga as they have a back-to-back in Florida against the Magic and Heat startng Sunday.  Good luck!
