On Kyrie Irving’s ProCamp August 11th & 12th in Cleveland

The first time I met Kyrie Irving was at his summer basketball camp in Cleveland last year. His ProCamp was well attended, despite the fact that he’d just been drafted and hadn’t played a game for the Cavaliers yet. This will be year two in Cleveland, he’s the Rookie of the Year, and I imagine the gym will be at capacity for the entire camp. I’ll be stopping by, and may even hoist up a jumper from the corner when nobody’s looking. So stay tuned on that. Kyrie’s camp will also end up being the first time he’ll speak to the media since breaking his hand in Vegas. Not a big deal really, but I’m sure he’ll have a valuable lesson about punching walls packaged up and ready to go for the campers. One of the best parts of his camp last year was the talk he gave at the end I thought, and this year will be no different because KYRIE IRVING CAN DO IT ALL.

Here is the press release from ProCamps as a heads up:

Only a few spots remain at the Morris Buick Cadillac GMC Kyrie Irving Basketball ProCamp presented by Fifth Third Bank! The two-day event is August 11th-12th at Avon Lake High School from 9:00AM-12:00PM. Irving will be on site the entire camp to direct camp activities and provide instruction. He will be joined by a selection of the top prep and college coaches from the Cleveland area. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 18 and focuses on the team concept and fundamentals of basketball. Groups will be small to ensure that each camper gets personalized instruction. Irving will also give daily talks highlighting the finer points of the game of basketball and beyond. Each camper receives an autographed camp team photo with Irving, exclusive camp T-shirt, goodie bag with $100 worth of merchandise, and the opportunity to win additional prizes. Cost of the ProCamp is $149. Register using the promo code “UncleDrew” to receive $10 off the camp fee. Hurry up, as there are only 20 spots left! Additional camp partners include Arby’s, ESPN Cleveland 850 WKNR, SportsTime Ohio, The News Herald, and The Morning Journal. Additional information and registration is available by visiting www.kyrieirvingcamp.com or by calling 888-389-CAMP (2267).

In addition to putting on Kyrie’s camp last year, ProCamps also just put on Trent Richardson’s camp in Strongsville a couple weeks ago – here’s a link on that.
