Maybe David Griffin read the article written by Cleveland Jackson on May 15. Maybe he even asked Chris Grant to reconsider the hiring of Mike Brown after reading our interview last April. Or maybe he simply believes that Mark Price is the best candidate for the head coaching position with the Cleveland Cavaliers because game recognizes game.
Whatever the case–according to multiple reports–Price is still very much on the Cavs radar. The latest according to Sam Amick of USA Today.
As Cavs’ coaching search continues, I’m told they’re strongly considering giving Charlotte assistant Mark Price a second interview this week

On Saturday, The Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto also offered the following on the Cavs coaching search.
“What about Mark Price? They did talk to their former star point guard. He would be considered the fourth candidate, with the team doing more research. This much is certain: The Cavs want a coach who is very strong working with point guards. It’s a top priority. That is how Price came into the mix.”
Pluto listed the top three candidates as Alvin Gentry, Tyronn Lue and David Blatt. Price represents the fourth coach mentioned in that group. David Blatt–who coached Ohio State legend Scoonie Penn in Turkey with Efes Pilsen–is scheduled to interview with Cavs officials on Wednesday according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
As I tweeted over the weekend, Price and Blatt are my two top choices for the job.
My top-2 choices for #Cavs HC are Price (1) and Blatt (2). Encouraged by reports they’re among the 4 candidates still being considered.
